Ashwagandha: adaptogen for chronic stress leading to frazzled exhaustion and difficulty with sleep or appetite. Can mildly stimulate the thyroid, so please use with caution if you are on thyroid medications. Start with a half dose for the first week, then slowly increase dosage. Safe with medications, not safe in pregnancy. 

Tulsi:  uplifts the mood and energy and supports the immune system.

BItter melon: helpful for stomach pain accompanied by constipation; can be useful for gastric ulcers. Do not take with diabetes medications; stop use if you feel bloated or experience diarrhea.

Boneset:  strong antiviral immune herb, great for fevers. It is for acute illness, and should only be used for 7 days in a row. Not safe in pregnancy or nursing.

Anise Hyssop: is uplifting, and especially great for grief and heartbreak.

Chamomile: a gentle herb; most often used as a mild sedative and a digestive aid. great for children, and for folks who have frequent stomaches and gas. ** chamomile allergies are a thing! so listen to your body **

Cinnamon:  a great addition to herbal blends that help with digestive issues and feelings of low energy; cinnamon carries the energy / feeling of home and warmth.

Comfrey: helpful as a compress, poultice or salve in healing minor skin injuries (cuts, scrapes, bites); external use ONLY.

Echinacea: one of the best allies for immune support. This plant can be taken as preventative care during cold and flu season, and it is often helpful in decreasing the duration of a cold. 
**Not safe for folks who are immunocompromised

Marshmallow Root: soothes irritated tissue and reduces swelling in various parts of the body: bowels, throat, kidneys. Great for dry coughs.

Motherwort: soothes the nervous system, helps holds your heart during times of heavy grief / loneliness / over-worry / agitation. May also provide relief for menstrual cramps. *Not safe during pregnancy, or menstruation with very heavy bleeding.

Lavender:  popular nervine (type of herb) that is used to assist with calming anxiety, restlessness, headaches, and encouraging sleep.

Linden: soothing and relaxing; also reduces blood pressure.

Milky Oats: nourishment for the nervous system, especially when we feel burnt out or frazzled.

Spearmint: relaxing; helps support the body in healing through common cold symptoms and upset stomach.

Peppermint: aromatic herb that is helpful for calming stomach issues (gas, upset stomach) and soothing the nervous system

Skullcap: relaxes nerves, and can be soothing to headaches brought on by stress. Helpful for folks who are easily overstimulated by sound, light, touch, etc.

Lemon Balm: Uplifting and calming; helpful for folks whose stress shows up as stomach or heart aches.

Licorice Root:  anti-inflammatory herb, great for gastro-intestinal discomfort. Not safe in pregnancy, and large doses should not be taken over long periods of time. (one 6" stick)

Milky Oats: gentle restorative for the nervous system, specific for "frazzled nerves." very safe and gentle.

Mullein: nutritive herb for dry lungs. 

Mugwort: helps tone the digestive tract, and soothes gas, bloating, diarrhea and stomachache. when burned as incense,  mugwort is a great alternative to sage for clearing / cleansing energetic space.

Nettle: high in iron and minerals, good for building blood and bones. very safe and nourishing. 

Reishi mushroom: supports adrenal function and immune system.

Skullcap: calming for an overworked nervous system. can help with tension, sleep, and anxiety. safe with medications, not safe in pregnancy.

Goldenrod: can he helpful in easing irritation from upper-respiratory infections; energetically, is a helpful reminder to allow grace to ourselves and others.

Valerian: strong smelling and potent herb, that is most widely used to treat symptoms of insomnia (trouble falling asleep and/or staying asleep). Not to be used with other sedating medication or benzodiazepines.

Yarrow: Helpful anti-inflammatory herb; supports the immune system in fighting infection, but should not be taken regularly.
